COURSE DETAILS

Course Name : Research Preparation Course

The term Research Preparation Course, also called bridging course, foundation course, refers to course that support research learners to prepare for undertaking research work and to figure out what, how and when do the research?

The goal of our program is to help foster the growth of the next generation of researchers in technology and transforming industries. We seek applicants who have an interest in pursuing research and in learning cutting-edge research methods. Prior background is not strictly necessary; candidates interested in gaining exposure to the project areas of research are very welcome to apply.

You'll need a good honours degree, usually first class or upper second, in a science subject related to your area of interest. Most research scientists then go on to study for a postgraduate qualification like a PhD.

But many independent researchers are under- or post-graduates, and some are professionals who want to step out of their current work environment or pursue a specific research goal. If you want to make an advancement, like a better algorithm, then you can create your own experiments to show how your idea works better (on the problem you tested) and you have created a meaningful advancement in science - you need to follow steps or research guide.

.

A good researcher must be open-minded and must also adopt a critical way of thinking.

.

he/she should be hard working, diligent, focused and devoted to his/her specific field of interest.

The Research Mentor is an important key to a successful trainee experience. Students value the opportunity to conduct research under the guidance of a faculty member or research mentor and the College values your contribution to undergraduate education by providing meaningful undergraduate research experiences that allow a student to engage deeply in their discipline and grow as scholars.

Dr. Abdul Moyez, Principal of Energy Materials Research Centre, provides participants with in-depth training support and further mentoring research work. We are grateful for his generous mentoring and for their rich contributions to the EMRC's vibrant research community.

Benefits Include

.

Mentoring by an experienced, published researcher who understands the clinical practice

.

Small group discussions to facilitate the development of a research proposal

.

Learning how to utilize research methods to document client/family progress in treatment

.

Receiving ongoing mentoring for initiation and completion of a study

We encourage undergraduate and graduate students to get involved in research. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are interested in learning more about research in aging. By working closely with faculty mentors, research assistants often find ways to apply what they have learned in the classroom to “hands on” research projects and interventions. For undergraduates interested in attending graduate school, this experience allows you to learn whether or not you like research, and is invaluable support for your graduate school application.
